Black and Blue Redux

Alabama Shakes, Don't Wanna Fight - The Stones had an uneven but under-appreciated disc in the mid -70's called Black and Blue, with forgettable melodies but an unstoppable beat.  This funk vamp would have been right at home on Side 2 except that in 1976 Brittany Howard would have been singing backup instead of tearing it up out front (well, technically she wasn't even born.)

Where have you gone, Steve Forbert?

Hiss Golden Messenger, Saturday's Song - In the mid-80's, Forbert seemed suddenly everywhere with his infectious, Dylanesque songs sung in an weirdly irritating voice.  Steve, meet MC Taylor and Scott Hirsch.
